Our Story
RadSafe Canada is one of the oldest Canadian radiation protection companies still in operation. In such a competitive market involving true giants of the nuclear industry RadSafe Canada must provide an industry leading standard to its clients which is why radiation protection is our only business.
RadSafe Canada was founded in Pembroke, Ontario when our industry was at its previous peak. The CANDU reactors at home and abroad were providing industry leading performance and the Chalk River Laboratories and Sheridan Park facilities were providing the support required not only to the global CANDU fleet but also to the worldwide demand for radiological research & development and the production of medical isotopes. In conjunction with the production aspect of the industry the decommissioning of legacy buildings and facilities throughout the A.E.C.L. operated sites (now operated by Canadian Nuclear Laboratories) had begun in earnest and the demand for radiological protection field support in the form of radiation protection field staff had never been higher.
The formative team of RadSafe Canada in the early 2000’s quickly realized that demand does not always have to be met by the sheer number of personnel. RadSafe Canada set about hiring only those with the correct amount of experience and a proactive work ethic. To this day we strive to hire only the best available personnel to keep our team highly experienced, versatile and thorough.
By supplying only the best available personnel we have built a reputation around our reliability, our performance, our experience and our unwavering commitment to our clients. RadSafe’s three owners are all radiation protection personnel, two of whom still work in the field alongside their staff. With 8 decades of radiation protection experience between them, encompassing work from over 15 different radiological sites and all major reactor designs, the owners of RadSafe Canada have experienced most of what the nuclear industry has to offer but will always welcome new challenges.

As a collective, our team is one of the most experienced on the continent pooling from personal work experiences from throughout Canada, USA, Scotland, England, Wales, Sweden, United Arab Emirates, Slovenia and South Africa.
We appreciate our roots and we reflect this with our community oriented mindset by committed support to Algonquin College’s Applied Nuclear Science and Radiation Safety program at the Pembroke Campus. RadSafe has supported students in the program by establishing a bursary to help students in financial need and has representation on the college’s program advisory committee. In addition we have provided local community support through donations and sponsorships to various community events, hockey tournaments, charity golf tournaments, ladies rugby, children’s soccer and softball teams. We live in these communities and we know a little help can go a long way.
We are also a proud member of Conexus, Women in Nuclear and the Organization of Canadian Nuclear Industries. We look forward to many years of working together in a revitalized Canadian nuclear industry.
